LANAO DEL SUR – More than 700 residents of Taraka and Tamparan town in Lanao Del Sur received free medical services from the Office of Bangsamoro Member of Parliament Diamila Disimban-Ramos in partnership with BARMM’s Ministry of Health (MOH).

The two-day ‘Anogon Ko Pagtaw: Medical Outreach Program’ is in solidarity with the celebration of the 2023 National Women's Month and aims to help and provide services to the Bangsamoro people, especially the vulnerable sectors who have limited access to medical services.

The Medical Outreach Program, which was held earlier in March in Barangay Calupaan Carandangan in Taraka and the Municipal Gymnasium in Tamparan, provided free medical consultations as well as medicines and vitamins.

(Health is one of the main priorities of our government, and I believe that a healthy person is a productive person. That is why we launched this program that will improve the health condition of our citizens, especially those who are in dire need of it.)

Moreover, more than eighty (80) beneficiaries also received medical assistive equipment, such as canes and wheelchairs, from the said outreach activity.

Ms. Jacquelin Alangadi, a resident of Taraka and one of the beneficiaries of the medical outreach program, shared her deep appreciation, "Nagpacheck-up po ako dahil sumasakit po ang dibdib ko at hindi rin po ako makahinga ng maayos.

[Most of us only go to the doctor rarely to get a check-up, so we are very grateful to Allah (SWT) because you came and provided free consultation and free medicine for our people in Tamparan. I hope you can provide more medical services because there are many people who need it]

Further, Dr. Pancho Cruz of the MOH-BARMM, “acknowledged the entire effort and cooperation of all the stakeholders for the success of the program, especially MP Ramos, because every year she chooses to conduct the Medical Outreach Program to provide health services to the Bangsamoro."

Meanwhile, Taraka Mayor Atty. Amenodin Sumagayan, through his representative, Municipal Administrator Sultan Arongan Colangcag, and Tamparan Mayor Mohammad Juhar D. Disomimba, through Senior Councilor Engr. Ameril Disomimba Ali, extended their support and gratitude for the success of the MOP.

"On behalf of the LGU Tamparan, we are extending our sincere gratitude to BARMM and to MP Ramos for continuously providing support to our Municipality. It is a great help in developing the health of our countrymen, because I believe that if our health improves, we will be more effective members of our community]," Senior Councilor Disomimba Ali pointed out.

"Alhamdulillah for a successful event. [The entire manpower of RHU-Taraka is all here to support this initiative.] Thank you, MP Ramos, for choosing our locality, the Municipality of Taraka, to be one of the recipients of this medical outreach program. May Allah (SWT) reward you tenfold for all the services you have given to our residents," said Ms. Faraida Gandamra, RN, of RHU-Taraka.

"This is for the Bangsamoro, and In Shaa Allah, we will continue to promote such initiatives so that we can achieve our goal of a stronger health system in our Bangsamoro region," MP Ramos said, as she expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the MOH-BARMM under the leadership of Minister Dr. Rizaldy Piang through Dr. Pancho Cruz and his team, the NCMF-Lanao del Sur through Dr. Anisa Laguindab, the officials of Municipality of Taraka and Tamparan led by Mayor Sumagayan and Mayor Disomimba, respectively, RHU-Taraka led by Dr. Bolawan D.
